A 16-day view of Cliff Clemens Park usage

Although leaders at the City of Sisters have stated that Cliff Clemens Park is an underused area, and asked the SCG board to study possible use of a small part of the park for a community garden, neighbors have insisted otherwise. Several neighbors have claimed that the park is used every day by many people. Since gardeners do not want to take space away from active groups or uses, we decided to take a look at who uses the park and at what times of the day. We viewed the park on 16 days in high summer, from early morning to late afternoon. While this look in no way constitutes the exact usage of the public space and the parking areas around the park, it does show that except for consistent storage or parking of what is assumed to be neighbor-owned vehicles, Cliff Clemens is indeed an underused park.
